Way Inside! 1: Marc Kennedy

A new podcast...

Hey friends,

Just a short post here to let you know that the first episode of my podcast “Way Inside!” dropped today, featuring an interview with Marc Kennedy, third for Team Bottcher. I’ve partnered with Sportsnet and Inside Curling to bring you this podcast that is going to be a bi-weekly sit-down with just me and a curler. When I first got asked to do the podcast, I knew immediately I wanted it to be two things: a somewhat irreverent look at the game and its quirks (what’s curling talk without a few laughs), as well as a format where I could truly get “way inside” a player’s head and ask them some of the really tough questions.

This week, it lives up to those two goals (at least I think so…ha). I talked to Marc about integrating onto Team Gushue and if he and Brad ever discussed the 2017 Brier incident, how the Team Jacobs breakup went down, and talked to him about his new skipper Brendan Bottcher and how we both agree he might be getting a bit of a bad rap from fans. I also learned that he got a C+ in curling in university, what his biggest enemies might say about him, and ask him some of the tough questions about his own accomplishments in a segment we’re clumsily calling, “Extremely Difficult Own-Career Trivia” (maybe we’ll find a snappier name later). It’s also the debut of the “Question of the Week”, where this week, I ask Teams Schwaller, Wrana, Dunstone, and Horgan what they’d have as a logo on their jacket if they didn’t have to have a sponsor’s logo on the front.
